Moved flats in JLT last month and honestly the storage situation here is more chaotic than I expected. A few companies showed up late, one gave me a quote then doubled it on collection day. So I started doing proper research.
I ended up spending a couple of evenings going through storage companies in Dubai and it helped me filter out the dodgy ones faster than asking around on WhatsApp groups.
From my own experience and what others told me, the ones worth trusting tend to share a few things:
They give written quotes, not just verbal ones over the phone They let you visit the facility before you sign anything* They have clear terms on humidity control (huge deal here in summer)* They respond to messages within a few hours, not days
I ended up going with a mid-sized company in Al Quoz. Reasonable rates, clean units, no surprises on the bill.
If you are new to the city and still figuring out neighbourhoods and logistics, Visit Dubai actually has some useful orientation info beyond just tourism.
Bottom line: get everything in writing and visit the unit in person first.
